Not long after Hurricane IRMA went rolling through out state, I read a social media post that asked this question: “What can we do besides sending donations” of supplies or money to organizations in these affected areas? Strangely, I had never thought about the situation in that manner.

For those of you who have never experienced a hurricane before, well let me tell you as an expert that it can be exciting, invigorating, challenging, frightening and horrifying all at the same time. I grew up in Orlando, Florida having moved here with my family in 1960 when I was 5 years old. I’ve gone through more hurricanes than I can remember or count starting with DONNA in 1960 – even as a 5 year old I remember how powerful and destructive hurricane Donna was to Florida and other areas.

For many, Labor Day is known as the last official holiday of the summer where we can enjoy a long weekend of warm weather, white clothes and BBQ’s - although here in Orlando Florida we enjoy warm weather and BBQ all year round.

IT'S MARKET PLANNING TIME

It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again -- time to begin the process of planning for an entire year’s marketing activities.

Surprisingly, you’d be amazed how many times over the years I have been asked “where to start” when beginning the planning process. I’ve always thought the answer to that question was pretty intuitive – 78Madison’s process of course begins with a summary evaluation of which initiatives have been working over the past year, and which have fallen short of expectations.
